BIO

Kay began painting plein air landscape with artists in the 1980s in Country NSW.  Her subsequent formal training included study at Charles Sturt University and the Macquarie Art School, Bathurst, as well as, studying with a number of highly acclaimed and internationally renowned artists with specialties in watercolour, oils and pastels.  Kay has been painting professionally on a full-time basis since 2000 and, with her artist husband Peter, has travelled widely painting and collecting material around Australia and Internationally.

As a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW (FRAS) Kay is a regular exhibitor in exhibitions at the Society’s Lavender Bay Gallery.  She is also a member of The Society of Artists Newcastle, Arts Upper Hunter and Community Arts Centre, Port Stephens and exhibits widely. Kay was invited to exhibit in the Agora Gallery, Chelsey, New York as part of 12 Australian Artists exhibition.  Her work is featured in the “International Contemporary Artists“ NY/European Gallery and Museum Guide. Other publications include articles in Australian Artist Magazine where she was 3rd place winner (2012) and finalist (2013) in the National Art Challenges of The Australian Artist Magazine.  Other publications include Look Magazine-Art Gallery of NSW, Hunter Lifestyle Magazine, Newcastle Calendar Collection 2011 and newspaper articles.

Essentially style is impressionist with broad subject matter including landscape, seascape, portraits and still life. With an education background, (teacher and education consultant), Kay has naturally fallen into the role of art tutor in Adult Education Classes, in Art Societies and in private groups.

Works are represented in private, corporate and civic collections in Australian and in private collections in Japan, US, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Oman, China and England.
